There are two fundamental sides to creating high end photography, the first being photography and the second retouching. Retouching (editing/post-production) plays a huge role in a fashion photographer's workflow. Retouching is time consuming and constantly requires new skills. In this workshop We'll go through the whole process from start to finishing focusing on fashion and beauty, beginning with a completely raw image and showing you how a fashion photographer approaches retouching and the do's and don'ts that come with years of experience.

Learning Outcome

In this 1-day photo editing course you'll learn to master photoshop and learn new techniques to bring your work to the next level. Whether you're a fashion, wedding, portrait photographer or a graphic designer looking to boost your skills this class will send you home with practical knowledge that can be applied across vast genres of photography and editing. We've packed content into this in-person course and you'll have the chance to get individual feedback on your images. 

By the end of the day you'll be able to edit skin blemishes, colour grade your images, colour correct skin tone and garments, remove distracting elements from the background, clean up your image, shape garments and hair, remove flyaways and gain lots more exciting skills under your belt. 

What you'll need

- A basic understanding of photoshop

- A laptop + charger

- Photoshop CC 

- Capture One (you can use the 30 day free trial if you don't already have the software)

- A wacom tablet (optional)

- Images you would like to work on in the class (I will provide images for anyone that would prefer to practice on the class examples)

About Me

Retouching has had a huge influence on my fashion and commercial work over the past 10 years. Having completed my Bachelor of Photography at Photography Studies College in 2015, my aim is to share a combination of skills learnt in a high-level educational environment as well as working in the industry as a professional retoucher for other photographers and brands.

Some of my retouching clients include Bondi Sands, Mecca Cosmetica, Mossman, Mister Zimi, Peroni and Latrobe University.
